Wildgate, the fast-paced multiplayer shooter from Moonshot Games and Dreamhaven, is gearing up for its most accessible playtest to date during Steam Next Fest, running June 9–16, 2025. No invite required — just hop on Steam and start playing.
This week-long event gives PC players unlimited access to the latest Wildgate demo. Featuring the majority of content planned for launch, this version is packed with chaotic space battles, high-stakes crew-based missions, and just enough unpredictability to keep every match thrilling. It’s the perfect chance to dive in solo or squad up with friends for some high-energy, hyperspace competition.
You’ll be able to play directly through the Wildgate Steam page, and no signup is necessary. While progress from previous playtests won’t carry over, this is the best opportunity yet to explore what Wildgate is all about — and help shape the future of the game through your feedback.

What Is Wildgate?
Wildgate is a multiplayer first-person shooter set in a wild, lawless region of space called The Reach. Players form teams of up to four Prospectors, each with distinct abilities and roles, to retrieve powerful artifacts while battling rival crews. You’ll need to plan your loadouts, communicate, and make fast decisions in chaotic, ever-changing environments.
Think high-speed ship combat meets team tactics — with a good dose of space comedy and “space crimes” along the way. It’s an ideal pick for players who love strategic PvP with friends, and it’s shaping up to compete with titles like Overwatch, Marvel Rivals, or Destiny 2, thanks to its hybrid of FPS mechanics and class-based teamwork.
