Meadows

The Meadows is the first biome you’ll explore in Valheim, serving as a relatively safe starting area for new players. It features open fields, light forests, and an abundance of resources like wood, stone, berries, and mushrooms. You’ll encounter basic enemies such as boars and Greylings, which provide essential materials like leather scraps and resin. In the Meadows, you’ll also find abandoned structures that can be repaired for shelter, as well as Eikthyr’s altar, the first boss you’ll need to summon and defeat to progress.

Notes

Your primary goals in the Meadows are to gather resources, build a basic shelter, and craft essential gear like a club, bow, and leather armor. Setting up a campfire and a bed for respawning is crucial, as is establishing a small base near water for easy access to fish and flint. Exploring and clearing the Meadows thoroughly prepares you for the challenges of the Black Forest, the next biome, by ensuring you have upgraded weapons and armor. Focus on gathering and crafting efficiently, as mastering the basics here sets the foundation for your survival and progression in Valheim.
